Laguna Woman Reported Missing; Public Asked to Share Information

LAGUNA, N.M. – Authorities are asking for the public’s help in locating Brittany Starr Waconda, a 39-year-old woman last seen in Laguna, New Mexico.

According to missing person information provided through the New Mexico Department of Public Safety, Waconda was last seen on May 18, 2026, in Laguna. She is listed as American Indian/ Alaska Native, female, with brown eyes and red or auburn hair. She is described as 5 feet, 2 inches tall and weighing approximately 200 pounds.

Waconda was born July 16, 1986. Authorities also note that she has an unknown tattoo on her left arm.

Anyone with information about Waconda’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Laguna Tribal Police Department at 505552-6685. Information may also be reported to the New Mexico Department of Public Safety Missing Person Hotline at 1-800-457-3463.

The Cibola Citizen has reached out to the Laguna Tribal Police Department multiple times for additional information but had not received a response as of press time.
