CIBOLA COUNTY, N.M. – Local metal band TAJ has earned statewide recognition after being named the top musical artist in the metal category at the New Mexico Entertainment Awards.
The band from the City of Grants, New Mexico, includes Anthony Gallegos, Samantha Mendez, Spencer Deatherage and Gabriel Henderson.
TAJ has built a following while performing throughout New Mexico and has also brought live music home to Cibola County, including concerts held at venues across the county and in the Zuni Mountains.
The award recognizes the band across several metal styles, including death, progressive, doom, thrash and speed metal.
