CIBOLA COUNTY, N.M. — The Nov. 3 General Election is now less than seven weeks away, and several important voting deadlines arrive well before Election Day.
According to information provided by the New Mexico Secretary of State and Cibola County Clerk’s Office, voter registration by mail or online closes Oct. 6. That same day, absentee ballots can begin being mailed to voters who have requested one, and early voting and same-day registration begin at the Cibola County Clerk’s Office.
Expanded early voting begins Oct. 17.
The last day to request an absentee ballot is Oct. 20, and early voting ends Oct. 31.
General Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3. Polls open at 7 a.m.
This year’s ballot includes local races for House Districts 6 and 69, Cibola County Sheriff, County Commission Districts 1 and 3, Cibola County Magistrate Judge Divisions 1 and 2, Cibola County Assessor and Cibola County Probate Judge.
Some races depend on where a voter lives, so voters should make sure their registration address is current before voting.
Cibola County will again use Voting Convenience Centers on Election Day. County records show voters from any of the county’s 30 precincts may vote at any listed VCC site, including locations in Grants, Milan, Acoma, Laguna, Pinehill, Bluewater, San Rafael, Cubero, Paraje, San Mateo, Fence Lake, Seboyeta and Paguate. This means voters can utilize voter locations at more convenient locations.
Early voting locations listed by the county include the Cibola County Clerk’s Office, Grants Recreation Center, Laguna Tribal Building, Ramah Chapter House and Acoma Gymnasium.
