Joe Arthur “Tudy” Sanchez was born on April 13, 1937 in Santa Fe, NM, peacefully he passed away on November 27, 2022 at the age of 85 surrounded by his family members going into the highway of heaven.

Joe met his wife Diana at a very young age and they wed after his service in the United States Army. They began to start a beautiful life and family together which continued for the last 60 years. Joe and Diana moved to Grants, NM where Joe continued his truck driving career, as a truck driver hauling for the mining company. After his service at the mine , he began a new adventure and created J&D Trucking. He was self employeed driving his “Midnite Fantasy” until 2009 when he retired.

Joe was a loving husband, dad, grandpa, and friend. He enjoyed spending time with his family, watching the Denver Broncos, basketball, tennis and his old westerns. He was proud sharing his knowledge of trucks and mechanic skills with his children and grandchildren. He loved to travel with his wife and friends. His most favorite thing to do was to tell people stories of his life and his trucking years. His passion was his love for Mariachi Music, watching, listening and attending their concerts.

He is survived by his wife Diana of 60 years. Three children, son Paul and wife Brenda of Las Vegas, NV, son Ray and wife Kathryn of Grants, NM, daughter Linda and husband Joseph of Grants, NM. Seven grandchildren, Amber and husband Anthony of Las Vegas, NV, Leslie of Las Vegas, NV, April/Michael of Newcastle, OK. Ashley and husband Seth of Albuquerque, NM, Anthony of Grants, NM, Eric of Las Vegas, NV and Jared of Las Vegas, NV. Four great grandchildren Anthony, Adam, Evan, and Emily.

Joe is preceeded in death by his parents Emilo and Viola Sanchez and brother Dennis Sanchez of Cleveland, NM.

Joe’s services will include a rosary and mass being held at St. Teresa of Avila Church in Grants, NM on January 12, 2023 starting at 10:00 am. You are welcome to join us for a reception after mass at the Knights of Columbus.

The following day, January 13, 2023 Joe will be laid to rest at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM.
