Salvador Manuel Chavez

Salvador Manuel Chavez age 78 of Grants, NM born January 18, 1943, passed away on August 29, 2021. Rosary will be at 9:30 am on Tuesday September 7, 2021, with the mass following at 10 am at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church in Grants, NM.

Sal was an Army veteran and worked in the uranium mines for many years. He was known for his brilliant mind and has left lasting memories with everyone he met through his many stories.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years: Beatrice L Chavez; his sons: Salvador J Chavez of Albuquerque, NM, Eugene W. Chavez and wife Frances of Rio Rancho, NM and his daughter Amy L Chavez of Grants, NM; He had five grandchildren: Tyler Chavez, Athan Chavez, Mathew Chavez-Garcia, Raquel Chavez and Haley Chavez; and three greatgrandchildren: Noah, Isaac and Eli Chavez.

He is survived by his sisters: Corrine Padilla and husband Fred of Grants, NM, Viola Martinez and husband Mike of Henderson, NV, Theresa Dominguez and husband Martin of Algodones, NM and his brother Anthony Chavez and wife Annie of Arlington, TX.

His is preceded in death by his parents: Luis and Margarita Chavez; and his brother: Raymond Chavez.
