Steve Matkovich

Steve Matkovich, age 66, long-time resident of Grants, NM, passed away suddenly on Sunday, May 1st, 2022.

He was an avid hunter who loved the outdoors. Many will remember him by his dry sense of humor and being very straightforward and to-the-point. He had a heart of gold and cared deeply for his family and friends.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents: John and Philena Matkovich.

He is survived by his sisters: Marianna Gibson and her husband, Herb; Sue Grant and her husband, Ed; Steph Rivard and her husband, Rich; his nieces: Jayme, Jessye, Anita, Becca, Anna and Sarah and their families; and his nephews: Art and Frank and their families.

The family will be having a Celebration of Life on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at 11 a.m. at La Ventana. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
