Arson in Grants

GRANTS, N.M. –
The 600 Block of Chaco Avenue in Grants, New Mexico, was rocked by a vehicle fire. Grants Fire and Rescue moved quickly to contain the fire, which appeared to have suspicious starting points. The fire appears to have started in a black sedan.

A 65-year-old man lost his life on Interstate 40 near Prewitt on April 5. The accident occurred around 2:30 a.m. near mile marker 67.

The woman pictured is known by the FBI as the “Red Shoe Robber” and is allegedly responsible for robbing the Wells Fargo Bank on 201 N. First Street in Grants on Saturday, May 7. The Red Shoe Robber allegedly escaped with an undisclosed amount of money. If you know this person, call the FBI immediately at 505-889-1300. Brandishing a handgun, the Red Shoe Robber managed to steal an undisclosed amount of money from Wells Fargo on May 7.

ZUNI MOUNTAINS, N.M. – A fire in the Zuni Mountains started early Monday morning on Quartz Hill, the fire grew to eight acres in size.

Every year, a new set of sixth graders compete in the annual track meet at Grants High School. The GHS track team hosts the meet which has students from all of the elementary schools participate in this event to win the "traveling trophy" and take it back to their school.
