New Government is Formed

GRANTS, N.M. – The City of Grants is back to having a full government. When he was elected to mayor, Erik Garcia still had two years left on his term as a city councilor, because he became mayor the seat was left vacant and he could appoint someone to fill the seat.

GRANTS, N.M. – Crime has fallen in Grants, New Mexico. Since Chief Jeff Marez grabbed the reigns of Grants Police Department, the law enforcement agency has switched to a more proactive method of policing.

Fatal Shooting Near Prewitt

PREWITT, N.M. – The New Mexico State Police were involved in a shooting near Prewitt on April 16. The shooting left one unidentified suspect deceased, and involved a good Samaritan who stopped his vehicle to assist an officer in need. Details remain limited as NMSP investigates the shooting.
