As we begin the 20252026 school year, the New Mexico Activities Association would like to remind everyone of the updated changes to Heat Illness Prevention bylaws that were adopted in 2024.

Animal Tips

Applying water on dog’s chest, belly, ears, or gently on their entire coat is the most effective way to cool them down.Simple snacks to help them in the heat includes watermelon, plain ice, frozen fruit (vet approved), or fruit and water put into the freezer to create a fruit ice block.

Animal Care Center Update

The Grants Animal Care Center currently employs two full-time staff members and one part-time employee, along with several applicants and volunteers.
