The GHS Pirates rowed the boat heartily as they were able to easily defeat I-40 rival, the Gallup Bengals, by a score of 40-8 and the Route 66 traveling trophy will stay in Grants for another season.

Capital Jags pounce on Pirates

The Pirates, despite scoring first, lost their season opener against the 5-A Capital Jaguars, 55-20. “There is a lot of good that came from this Capital game,” said GHS Head Coach Brandon Hernandez. “Obviously we have a lot to clean up; however, we competed to the very end.

GRANTS, N.M. - The Journey of Hope South team will be stopping in Grants, New Mexico as part of their 59-day, 3,600 mile cross-country journey from Santa Barbara, California to Washington D.C. The group will be arriving in Grants on Friday, July 2.

Martinez earns blue trophy

High School sports are winding down as summer begins. Tristian Martinez (9-0), a senior at Grants High School, took the blue trophy at Girls State wrestling state tournament as she defeated Lilah Yazzie (6-7) of Newcomb in the 180lb division in that championship bout.
