April Free Movies Actress Anne Baxter is April’s featured movie performer at the Double Six Art Gallery, on Route 66. First up – “All About Eve” on April 8. Next, “I confess” on April 22. Films begin at 2 p.m. No admission fees. See you at the movies!

Asparagus in the Home Garden

When I bought my home in Thoreau, one of the first things I looked for was a place to put an asparagus bed. Asparagus is one of the earliest harvested vegetables each spring. The spears are crisp, tender, and essential to an asparagus lover! I didn’t grow up eating asparagus.

Mentoring offers empowerment and encouragement to assist others to find a pathway to be happier, healthier, and more successful. At its core, mentoring is about helping another person through offering advice, support and guidance on finding the right direction in life.

Grants Local Honored

On February 24, 2023, Ashley Arrossa, P.E. was recognized as the New Mexico Society of Professional Engineers (NMSPE) Engineer of the Year. Selection for this award is based on service to the community as well as engineering experience.

MPD Officer Receives Commendation

MILAN, N.M. – Milan Police Chief Carl Ustupski presented Officer Richard Aragon with a Letter of Commendation for his heroic efforts on the night of January 5, 2023 in response to a house fire in the Village of Milan.

Happy Ending for Lost Dog

During the move from California to Indiana, the Huckeby family stopped in San Rafael, New Mexico in Cibola County to check out a problem with their truck. Their beautiful shepherd, Sky, somehow got out of the vehicle and disappeared into the desert.
