GRANTS, N.M., — SoloWorks Cibola, Cibola Communities Economic Development Foundation, and Grants Recreation Department are working together to save this year’s Christmas Craft Fair by bringing it online and creating and managing online booths.

“The Grants Recreation Department is excited to partner with SoloWorks to provide the opportunity to our Holiday Arts and Crafts Fair vendors to continue to showcase their talents and allow our community to purchase unique and one-of-a-kind crafts and gifts during these uncertain times. We hope the community embraces this online platform and supports our local artists,” said Joaquin Jiron, City of Grants Director of Parks & Recreation.

The group is asking those who would like to be vendors, even if they’ve never participated in the fair before, to fill out a survey at www.surveymonkey.com/r/cibolabusiness. They will be contacting individuals who fill out the survey during the next two weeks. If enough vendors participate, the plan is to have the fair website going throughout the month of December. The website for the event, which is not live yet, will be at www.cibolashops.com.

Vendors will be able to submit their items from their phones or computers by filling out basic information. “We have designed everything to be as easy as possible for vendors,” said Shelly Fausett, SoloWorks director.

Eileen Yarborough, CCEDF executive director, said, “We are proud to be able to offer innovative solutions to keeping events like this one, along with the Cibola 4-H Festival of Trees and Roberta’s Place Festival of Wreaths, part of how our community celebrates the holidays, especially in a year as trying as this one.”

SoloWorks and CCEDF also encourage any other businesses in the area that could use some technical support or assistance to fill out the survey. “The results will go a long way to help us meet the technology needs of the businesses in the community,” Yarborough continued. “Let’s support each other through the holidays and shop local!”
