Mariana Padilla named Public Education Secretary

Mariana Padilla, a longtime New Mexico educator and close confidant of Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham, has been named the state’s new Public Education Secretary.Padilla has served as the Director of the New Mexico Children’s Cabinet since the start of the Lujan Grisham administration.

GRANTS, NM – The Cibola Arts Council has patiently waited for a new director. Patience has been rewarded with Eric Sedillos who has filled the vacancy.The new director has a personal philosophy of inclusiveness and wants to form relationships with as many segments of the county as possible.

Missile to Fly Through Cibola Skies

Residents of Cibola County will soon be able to see a missile flying overhead.Weather permitting, the United States Missile Defense Agency and US Army will be conducting a missile test from Fort Wingate to White Sands Missile Range at some time in the next week and a half.The U.S.

On August 4, the Gallup Red Ribbon team handed off to Grants.The Grants/Cibola County Chamber of Commerce welcomed runners with a barbeque in front of the New Mexico Mining Museum and Grants City Hall— the City of Grants thanked the chamber and their team for the work putting the event together.
