The Chain of Craters Prescribed Burn

GRANTS, NM – Until May 19, the Bureau of Land Management will be conducting a prescribed fire at the Chain of Craters. The prescribed fire will be around 35 miles southwest of Grants within Cibola County, south of State Highway 53 and to the west of County Road 42.

GCCS School Buildings in Need of Serious Repair

Despite declining enrollment, school buildings in the Grants Cibola County School District are in need of serious repair, according to a 68-page report from the Legislative Education Committee in Santa Fe. The local economy has contributed to the loss of students at GCCS.
