Diego Lopez, Reporter Cibola County residents have an event to look forward to this coming weekend. To celebrate the Labor Day Holiday, the Grants-Cibola County Chamber of Commerce is putting on a mostly free event that is sure to be fun for all ages.

Cibola County Correctional Center Under Fire

Diego Lopez, Reporter MILAN, N.M. – A new, official complaint alleges serious misconduct at the Cibola County Correctional Center. This lawsuit focuses on the part of the prison which houses immigrant detainees from the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Missile to launch from Fort Wingate

Diego Lopez, Reporter GRANTS, N.M. – Effective as of August 30, until September 2 at 4 p.m., parts of the Mount Taylor Ranger District will be closed to the public as the federal government prepares to launch a missile from Fort Wingate.

Vacancy on the Board of Education

GRANTS, N.M. – According to superintendent Max Perez, on August 2, Aleisha Lundstrom resigned her position on the board of education in a public meeting in order to prevent a conflict of interest in the program she is going to work in under the district.
