The catfish bite remained strong at Bluewater Lake this week, with anglers finding success along the shoreline using raw shrimp and Carolina rigs. Multiple catches were reported over the weekend, including several channel catfish over 20 inches.

Fishing at Bluewater Lake has entered the heart of summer with mixed results.Anglers targeting catfish reported slow to fair activity, with worms and PowerBait producing a few solid bites. One local pair, Rose Sanders and Casey Jim, proved that patience pays off.

SANTA FE — Starting July 1, New Mexico resident veterans are eligible for a lifetime pass for day-use and camping access to all New Mexico State Parks.Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham signed House Bill 161 to provide recreational opportunities for New Mexico veterans in the last legislative session.
