Scenic Byway Needs Public Input

The Northwest New Mexico Council of Governments (NWNMCOG) is seeking public input on the Corridor Management Plan (CMP) for the Trail of the Ancients Scenic Byway by tabling at three different locations on the weekend of April 13-14, 2024. The CMP is a threecounty economic development and transportation plan which will support the ongoing maintenance, protection, and development of different parts of the Trail of the Ancients Scenic Byway corridor. The corridor runs almost 600 miles through San Juan, McKinley, and Cibola counties and Navajo Nation and Pueblo of Zuni in Northwest New Mexico.

SANTA FE, NM – In a landmark decision on January 16, 2024, the New Mexico Supreme Court has ruled in favor of Ramon Lorenzo, vacating one of his convictions on grounds of double jeopardy. The case, stemming from a 2013-armed robbery and shooting at the WOW Diner in Milan, New Mexico, determined that convicting Lorenzo for both armed robbery and aggravated battery violated his constitutional rights against double jeopardy.
