ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Gov. Lujan Grisham offered no new strategies or definitive plan to fully return New Mexico’s students to classrooms. Her refusal to reopen all classrooms is having a serious impact on students’ learning and mental health. Online schooling is not the panacea to this problem. Students are getting further behind, and many educators warn lawmakers those living in the state’s most rural regions are suffering the most, according to the Republican Party of New Mexico officials.

America’s Conservation Enhancement Act Passes Both the House and Senate

Xochitl Torres Small (NM-02) applauded the passage of the bipartisan America’s Conservation Enhancement Act, which passed the House by a voice vote and will reauthorize critical wildlife conservation programs, in addition to addressing the threats of emerging wildlife diseases and invasive species. The legislation unanimously passed the U.S. Senate last week and now heads to the President’s desk.

Luján slams proponents of ‘junk plans’ GOP efforts to take away healthcare

Luján also criticized Republican efforts to dismantle the Affordable Care Act during a pandemic.

CIBOLA COUNTY, N.M. – In the morning of Oct. 6 phones across Cibola County began ringing when the county’s emergency information line, Code Red, sent out a message to inform citizens that evacuations were underway and certain forest roads were being closed off. The initial message didn’t leave a lot of additional information, which prompted a series of messages from Code Red to help explain the situation.

CIBOLA COUNTY, N.M. - A man was travelling from Arizona, presumed by police to have been heading home, when a Cibola County Sheriff’s Deputy attempted a traffic stop on the vehicle in the early morning of Monday, October 5. The driver fled and the incident ended with the vehicle flipping over.
