September Coffee with A Cop

MILAN, NM – This month’s coffee with a cop was held on September 6. It included updates regarding their staffing, training, and a recent homicide that occurred in Milan. Village of Milan Trustees Vivian Brumbelow and Mercer were present at the meeting and two officers, Chief Carl Ustupski and Officer Nikolas Candelaria, were present to give updates and answer any questions.

Superior Ambulance Requests City of Grants Increase Subsidy; Requests Negotiations from Cibola County and Village of Milan to Continue Services

GRANTS, NM – At a Special City Council Meeting held on Monday August 28, there was a discussion and action item titled “Approval of Superior Ambulance Service Subsidy Increase”. Prior to this meeting, Superior Ambulance sent a 30-day notice of termination of contract to the City of Grants, Village of Milan, and Cibola County, they are requesting an increase in the subsidy they receive from $120,000 to $300,000 per year for operations in City of Grants.

Governor Announces Statewide Enforcement Plan for Gun Violence, Fentanyl Reduction – Plan Includes 30-Day Suspension of Concealed, Open Carry in Albuquerque and Bernalillo County SANTA FE – Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham announced on Friday a new public health order that outlines immediate actions aimed at quickly reducing gun violence and illegal drug use in Albuquerque and Bernalillo County.

Deadline for AIM Internship Approaching

New Mexico Cattle Growers’ Association (NMCGA) Allied Industry Committee will be hosting college interns at the upcoming 2023 Joint Stockmen’s Convention. “The purpose for the internship is to encourage college student to network with our NMCGA membership and allied industry partners” said President Loren Patterson, Corona. “We know that not all young people may not have the ability to return to the ranch, but there are a variety of off ranch jobs in the industry, and we want our next generation to have the opportunity to explore those options first hand.” Interns will have the opportunity to shadow NMCGA Leadership and Allied Industry Partners. Having an internship will give students an experience in the career field they want to pursue, as well as giving them the face to face time with peers, industry leaders and potential future employers.
