City Council Terminates City Manager Donald Jaramillo’s Contract

GRANTS, NM – On July 26, a Regular City Council Meeting was held. During this meeting the council went into a closed session to discuss the City Manager’s Contract. When the council returned to an executive session a motion was made by Councilwoman Beverly Michael to terminate the contract of City Manager Donald Jaramillo. The motion passed with Councilman George Garcia and Councilman Fred Rodarte voting in favor of the termination and Councilman Zachery Gutierrez voting in opposition.

Krissy is a 6-month-old female cattle dog mix.She came in from Milan, with her brother Gilbert. She is a very loving, active, but well-behaved baby. She loves praying on the grass and rough housing with her brother. Krissy and Gilbert are both currently available for adoption.

No entendía lo que estaba disponible para mí y mis hijos porque no entendía cuáles eran mis derechos. Crié a cinco hijos con mi único ingreso, y hubo momentos en que encontrar cuidado infantil para mis hijos parecía casi imposible.

Fire Marshal’s Heat Advisory

GRANTS, NM – Fire Marshal Dustin Middleton has issued a heat advisory for Cibola County in response to the heat wave that has settled over New Mexico. He advises people who are out and about to be careful of the heat that has impacted across the world this past week.

DWI Checkpoints

The Grants Police Department will be conducting sobriety checkpoints, saturation patrols, operation buckle down,100 days and 100 nights ENDWI and insurance, and driver’s license checkpoints in Grants, New Mexico during the months of July and August, 2023.

Mental Health Wednesday

National Minority Mental Health Month is observed in July as a nationwide effort developed by Mental Health America. It hopes to bring attention to the multitude of mental health experiences within BIPOC communities. The month also takes into consideration the unfair inequities such as systemic and historical barriers that negatively impact a person’s mental health. The concerns and traumas faced by the marginalized, oppressed, and disenfranchised people are unique and need to be addressed as such. It is important to have professional and empathetic mental health caregivers to help overcome mental health concerns and faulty diagnoses.

Sky City Reopens to the Public for Tours
