IVON (YVON)
JUTEAU SR.
Ivon Juteau Sr. was born on August 12, 1956, in Blind River, Ontario, Canada, and passed away in Grants, New Mexico, on July 29, 2026. He lived an eventful and adventurous life, guided by an independent spirit, a strong work ethic, and a curiosity that continually led him toward new places, new people, and new projects.
Ivon, known to many as “Frenchy,” was hardworking, intelligent, resourceful, and gifted with his hands. He spent many years in the mining business and was also a great salesman whose outgoing personality allowed him to connect easily with people. He was never afraid of hard work or taking on something new. When Ivon had an idea, he had a way of finding out how to make it happen.
An adventurer at heart, Ivon loved road trips, camping, fishing, and spending time with his family. Family time was important to him, and he enjoyed creating memories with those he loved. Of all the places life took him, New Mexico truly captured his heart. He loved its land, people, and culture, purchased his own piece of land there, and dreamed of building a home. New Mexico was the place he considered home.
Frenchy was known for his great, fun-loving personality. He was outgoing, made friends easily, entertained those around him, and loved making people laugh. He had a natural way of connecting with people and was loved within his community just as he was loved within his own family.
Ivon was someone his family could call and talk to about anything. He was someone they could rely on, trust, and confide in, and that trust went both ways. The memories he created with those closest to him will continue to be cherished, along with the many stories shared by those who knew him throughout his very eventful life.
Ivon also had a special love for cats and leaves behind his beloved cat and companion, Raquel.
Ivon was the father of Jeanette, Derrick, Randy, and Yvon Jr. He was the grandfather of Deonte, Nevaeh, Makaijah, Yasmin, and Paige, and lived to welcome his first great-grandson, Adonis. He was also a brother to Claude, Pierre, and Claudette.
Ivon’s life will be remembered through the laughter, friendships, family memories, hard work, and adventures he left behind. He worked hard, explored, created, laughed, made friends wherever life took him, and above all, loved his family.
Ivon’s service and final resting place will be held at the Grants Memorial Park: 500 W. Roosevelt Ave. Grants, N.M. 87020 on Tuesday September 29th at 10:30am.
