There’s a lot of chatter about next year’s presidential election, and a lot of polls asking one group or another what opinion is current. The answers that are publicized mostly involve people claiming that they want more attention paid to them or to something they want, or they’re bored with the candidates.

As NATO prepares to celebrate its 75th anniversary in Washington next year, it does so from a position of remarkable unity and strength—a stark contrast to the mutual suspicion and uncertainty that clouded trans-Atlantic ties just a few years ago. The alliance's resurgence, driven by a combination of factors, is a testament to its enduring relevance.

In America, we celebrate thanksgiving by watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade, watching football, Black Friday shopping, and eating with family. We eat turkey, stuffing, gravy, sweet potatoes, cornbread, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, and pies.

I have always liked Thanksgiving. I know its origins are dubious.

Veteran’s Day Celebrations Dear editor, It was such a pleasure to be able to participate in the Veteran's Day Memorial Service this past Saturday at Veteran's Park. There was a very nice crowd to take part in this service.

I offer here a simple explanation to clarify their significance: the word “rule” means that United States citizens are blessed by equal protection and equally beholden under the laws of our land, not any person, corporation, or group of people.
