The lady Pirates tennis team is currently 6-3, 1-0 after a recent win over Hope Christian 5-4 and Manzano 9-0.At the Manzano meet number 1 Alexia Munson defeated Gabriella Mc-Carthy 6-1, 6-0. Number 2 Abriyah Urioste defeated Paige Barney 7-5, 6-2.

This week's Athlete of the Week is senior Izeyah Manzanares of the GHS baseball team, whose recent pitching was crucial to the Pirates victories over district rivals.

Lady Pirates Ready for District Play

After starting the weekend with a 5 AM departure to West Las Vegas high school to play in a tournament, the Lady Pirates softball team went 12 this past weekend. The Lady Pirates lost to East Mountain 11-3 and then defeated Tohatchi 17-1. In their third game they lost a close one to Taos, 12-10.

Pirates Go 3-0 Before Districts

The Pirate went 3-0 last week after shutting out Miyamura High School (1-9), a team who narrowly defeated them last year, by a score of 110. The team had 22 at bats, 10 hits and 10 RBIs in that 11-0 shellacking of the Patriots. Estevan Barela was the winning pitcher of the game.
