Franklin Romero, Sports CorrespondentTwelve wrestlers from the Grants High School boys and girls wrestling teams are headed off to the state tournament this upcoming weekend. Six qualified for the girls team and 6 for the boys team after the regional meet last weekend.

This week's Athlete of the Week isPromise Garcia of the Grants High School Lady Pirates Basketball Team. Promise had five treys and two field goals for a combined 19 points against Belen in a recent district game.

Pirates Go 1-2 in District

GRANTS, N.M. Though the Grants High School Pirates have gone 12 in district play. With a record of 11-10, 1-3 they are currently ranked 12th in 4A and moved up in the coaches poll to 10th.
