My husband, Peter, doesn’t believe me, but I didn’t always dress up.I would dress up for the holidays and for a special occasion, but the definition of “special” was fairly strict. It involved wearing nice shoes perhaps half a dozen times a year.

Letters to the Editor . . .

Dear Editor: The bilingual poems by Los Alamitos students are wonderful! During my years teaching English at UNM Gallup, the Alternative High school there, and Tohatchi High, I realized how vital it is to honor each student’s “language of the heart” before launching an English program.

High school memories! Ah, yes, `The Good, The Bad, and the ...Funny?' Mr. Cacciapaglia, known as Mr. `C' to students, was my English teacher my senior year in 1981 at Madison High School in Vienna, Va. (I find it cool that our school colors at Madison were red and black, same as Grants High!

A Ty Detmer Story

Many people are avid fans of Taylor Swift and her music. The charitable and politically active sides of her life and business are also incredibly impressive.
