On Friday, January 7, 2022, it was my late great-grandfather’s, Billy McElroy, birthday. He would have been 92 years old. Many who have lost loved ones understand the intensity of emotions and memories that flood in on days such as birthdays, holidays, or other days significant to them.

Dear Editor, Citizens of Grants, we need our City Council to do its job, but City business cannot happen if the duly-elected Councilors don't show up at City Council meetings! Three members of the Grants City Council did not appear at the Special City Council Meeting on Monday, December 27, 2021.

My Christmas Gift

Dear editor, A cold dark time in so many ways. A house divided cannot stand. The extinction of families. Hope lost. But then I looked at the people around me. Each with their own pain and problems. Yet, still a smile, a kind word, a willingness to help or make someone else happy.

Dear editor, At the last Council meeting I demanded an apology be made to the City’s employees (and voters) for having created a hostile work environment for us, the employees. But alas, none has been forth coming.
