The Grants High School boys’ and girls’ soccer teams have been busy as they are passing the midway point of their seasons.Currently the GHS boys’ soccer team is 3-7, 0-2 after a 2-0 defeat of non-district Tierra Encantada (5-2, 0-0) last week. Fabian Pena and Kulynn Spencer scored this game.

This week's Athlete of the Week is Aubrhy Garcia, team captain of the Grants High School Volleyball Team. Garcia is ranked second in Class 4A in District 5 for aces and 10th for kills as well as fifth in the state of New Mexico for digs.

CIBOLA COUNTY SPORTS ROUND-UP

The Grants High School Volleyball Team is currently 5-7 after two recent wins. They defeated Wingate High School 3-0 and Del Norte High School 3-1. They will play Kirtland Central (4-6) away on September 26th then host Espanola Valley (3-8) September 28.
