Annual Meeting Returns with Early Registration and Voting

Press Release GRANTS, N.M. – Ongoing COVID precautions continue to impact Continental Divide coop's annual meeting of its membership. As a result, the co-op’s governing board is allowing its members to register and vote a day early for board trustee candidates.

Co-op and CoBank Offer $5,000 “Sharing Success” Grant

For the 11th consecutive year, Continental Divide will award a charitable grant of up to $5,000 to a qualifying nonprofit organization.

Firefighters Protect Village

MILAN, N.M. – Flames engulfed a recreational vehicle (RV) a white car and other items near the Village of Milan, New Mexico, on April 14. The fire could have easily spread if not for the quick actions of Milan Volunteer Fire Department, Grants Fire and Rescue, and the Cibola County Fire Command.

Commissioners continue pushing Public Safety Building project forward

The Cibola County Board of Commissioners held a special meeting on Thursday, April 14, at 5:00 p.m. All commissioners were present except for Commissioner Ralph Lucero. The agenda was approved as presented, and there were no public comments.

Cibola County Declares Extreme Fire Danger—No Burning Ban in Effect

Effective April 11, 2022, Cibola County Office of the Fire Marshal announced that they are enacting the County’s Ordinance #2019-001, Restricting Open and Controlled burns in the unincorporated areas of Cibola County.

Pine Hill Man Arraigned for Child Sexual Abuse

PINE HILL, N.M. – A federal grand jury was convened in March; they filed an indictment against 39-year-old Leonard Yazzie of Pine Hill, New Mexico, for alleged sexual abuse on the Navajo Nation.

To’Hajiilee Man Pleads Guilty to Laguna Assaults

LAGUNA, N.M. – Michael Shebala, To’Hajiilee man, pleaded guilty to two counts of assault while in the Pueblo of Laguna. The assaults occurred on February 18, 2021 in front of an unidentified gas station in Laguna.
