BLUEWATER LAKE, N.M. – The Thanksgiving stretch at Bluewater Lake was a quiet one, with no new angler reports coming in as November came to a close.The most recent fishing update remains from earlier in the month, when, on Nov.

Valdez defeats Robinson, Rear Naked Choke: 2-0 at Fightworld41

What a match! Revel Entertainment was the place and Fightnight 41 was the event. The 9th fight of the night featured Cibola’s very own Dion Valdez of San Rafael who came in 1-0, squaring off with an Alamogordo fighter named Paul Robinson, at 1-1.Valdez, who dropped from 155 lbs. to 145lbs.

Basketball Season Is Here!

GRANTS, N.M. Turkey, red chile with mashed potatoes and basketball are around the corner. November brings us Thanksgiving and also kicks off prep basketball season and both the Grants High School Boys’ and Ladys’ Teams are practicing hard for their first games.

Pirates Unable to Overcome Sartans

GRANTS, N.M. - A memorable Pirate football season ended last week under the Friday night lights of Nusenda Community Stadium as the Pirates succumbed to the second ranked St. Pius Sartans 48-7.

BLUEWATER LAKE, N.M. – Late fall has settled in at Bluewater Lake, and fishing has slowed a bit as water levels continue their gradual drop.The most recent New Mexico Game & Fish report, from Nov. 6, noted SLOW to FAIR catfish action for anglers using chicken liver near the dam.
