This week's Athlete of the Week is Boudy Melonas, 3, a senior, on the Grants High School football team who had four interceptions and a 98-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in the 22-16 defeat of the Silver Colts in the first round of the Nusenda Credit Union State 4A football playoffs.
The Grants High School Pirates have earned a seventh seed to the Nusenda Credit Union 4A state football playoffs. They will host the 10th seeded Silver Colts on Saturday, November 9 at 1 pm at the Port of the Pirates. The Pirates ask fans to wear red and to fill the seats early. Pirates Secure Seventh seed, Host Silver

The Lady Pirates are wrapping up their volleyball season and will travel for their last district game to Belen on Nov. 5.The Lady Pirates lost to St. Pius 3-0 (25-9, 25-12, 25-8) on October 29. In their next game they defeated Highland 3-0 (2517, 25-8, 25-17).

GHS Soccer Season Concludes

The Grants High School soccer season has drawn to a close with the GHS boys soccer team wrapping up the season with a 3-13, 0-8 record. They lost their last two most recent games. On October 17 they lost to Highland High School (11-8-1, 6-2) by a score of 10-0.

Grants High School Cross Country hosted the Grants Invite last weekend.A total of 11 schools participated in the invite with local teams dominating the top 10.Notable Pirates placing at the event were John Paul Miller, a senior, who placed 3rd with a time of 18:19.61.
