This week's Athletes of the Week are Boudy Melonas of the Grants High School Boys Basketball Team. Boudy scored 27-points and led the charge to almost topple the most number one team in 4A and district rival, St. Pius last week.

The in 4A Pirates went toe-to-toe with the fourth ranked Hope Huskies (9-7) and came up short in a spirited game.To their credit, the Pirates, who had come off two back-to-back wins, played hard and made it a competitive game.

Lady Wrestlers Compete at Volcano Vista

The Lady Pirates wrestling team competed at the Joe Vivian Invitational over the weekend. The team placed 13th out of 27 teams that participated with a total of 69 points.Notables were Raeyna Valdez 18-4 with a second place ranking in the 126-pound weight class.
