Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) introduced the Senate version of the bill.

MILAN, N.M. – All members were present for the Village of Milan Board of Trustees special meeting held on Monday, July 26 at 4 p.m. Before approving the agenda, Trustee Ellen Baca questioned whether the meeting was advertised enough or even at all. Village Clerk Denise Baca reassured Baca and the board that the meeting was advertised appropriately, and a motion to approve the agenda followed.

So, when I came into the Grants, City Council, there was no really good plan for the City of Grants. I started to look at the resources that the city already has, and discovered that we have many opportunities within our city limits. One of our biggest resources is our Riverwalk. The Riverwalk dumps 10,000,000 gallons of water in the Río San Jose every month, and we waste it. It just goes down south, and we lose it.

GRANTS, N.M. – On Wednesday, July 21, New Mexico State University-Grants faculty, Donn Webb, and many of his companions joined together to commemorate the showcasing of an exhibit dedicated to Webb’s life as an educator and radio host, or as Webb put it, a “disc jockey.”

GRANTS, N.M. – The Northwest New Mexico Correctional Center on Sakalares Boulevard in Grants, New Mexico, will be changing hands. The State of New Mexico and Core- Civic, the company who currently runs and operates the prison, struck a deal to turn the private detention facility into a state-ran detention facility. This transition will be part of NM Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham’s plan to slow and eventually end for-profit incarceration in the state.

Updating and improving; Milan parks to see improvements

VILLAGE OF MILAN, N.M. – The Village of Milan is in the process of upgrading and refurnishing parks across the village. From baseball fields for the youth to alterations making the parks wheelchair compliant for everyone to enjoy, Milan’s parks are receiving a makeover. Parks aren’t the only major renovations happening in the village either, the village swimming pool and fire department are both undergoing renovations to bring them into twenty first century.
