LAGUNA, NM—The Laguna-Acoma Jr./Sr. High School Career and Technical Education program has several offerings to enrich students’ possibilities for a future career. One is a course in Welding, another is a course in Mechatronics, and the third area is a course in Business and Tourism.

The Northwest New Mexico Council of Governments (NWNMCOG) is seeking public input on the Corridor Management Plan (CMP) for the Trail of the Ancients Scenic Byway by tabling at three different locations on the weekend of April 13-14, 2024. The CMP is a three-county economic development and transportation plan which will support the ongoing maintenance, protection, and development of different parts of the Trail of the Ancients Scenic Byway corridor. The corridor runs almost 600 miles through San Juan, McKinley, and Cibola counties and Navajo Nation and Pueblo of Zuni in Northwest New Mexico.

Grants, NM- Join El Malpais National Monument Park Rangers and celebrate astronomy and dark night skies during Astronomy Month. Programs are every Friday evening throughout the month and will be presented at various locations throughout the monument. Astronomy Month’s aim is to encourage people to go outside, look up, and share the sky.

GRANTS, NM – A man identified as Christian Gino Chavez, 22, was taken into custody on charges of disorderly conduct following an incident at Sunray Apartments on Lobo Canyon Road. The arrest occurred on March 8, around 3:13 p.m.

The call was initiated by Jeremey Tom, who reported being punched in the face during a verbal altercation with his wife.
