Kids deliver food at pantry

Members of the Peers Against Destructive Decisions club at Grants High School masked up to support the New Mexico National Guard at the Grants Community Pantry. The students worked side-by-side with the troops to give those in need food. The group participates in many community events like this to help raise awareness of the dangers of drugs and alcohol.

Milan police and public safety

MILAN, N.M. – The Village of Milan Police Department recently garnered a new chief, Lionel Desiderio. And as has been the case in administrative changes in the past to local law enforcement agencies, the new chief is entering at a time of turmoil. The Cibola Citizen was alerted to at least one officer who was preparing to leave the department on Friday, July 17 and three others who are allegedly seeking employment elsewhere.

Bomb threat

GRANTS, N.M. – Shortly after 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 15, law enforcement was alerted to a possible bomb threat at Smith’s grocery store in Grants, New Mexico.

Lodgers Tax Board

GRANTS, N.M. – Four members of the City of Grants Lodgers Tax Board reviewed the Fiscal Year 2019- 20 report. Vice Chair Kade Elkins did not participate in the July 16 session.
