GRANTS, N.M. — Isaac Gallegos, a 19-year-old currently playing baseball for Trinidad State Junior College in Trinidad, Colorado, recently committed to signing with the University of New Mexico to further both his academic and baseball careers.

The road has not been kind to the Pirates as they drop their fourth game on the road to the Valencia Jaguars by a score of 50-6. The young Pirates struggled on offense as they were unable to garner more than 6 points off a pass from quarterback Tyler Everhart to Knight Long in the first quarter.

GRANTS, N.M. - In other local sports the GHS lady Pirate soccer team is currently 4-5,0-1 after a couple of recent games. They were defeated by district rival, the lady Spartans of St. Pius, 9-0, on September 21. On September 25, they defeated the lady Elks of Pojoaque, 4-0.
