Grants High School alum Isaac Gallegos has a storied baseball career. From playing with the local Pirates to collegiate fame with the University of New Mexico Lobos, the homegrown athlete has been drafted to the Atlanta Braves. Gallegos was a 16th Round pick, coming in at 489 in the draft. He stands 6-foot, 3-inches tall and weighs 215 pounds. The athlete was born in 2002 and is a Junior at UNM. LAGUNA PUEBLO – Athletes from the Pueblo of Laguna made their mark on the New Mexico Senior Olympics, coming back home with 12 gold medals around their necks. First Place Bringing home the gold, there were seven athletes from Laguna that secured 13 collective gold medals.

The New Mexico Activities Association’s Board of Directors met in regular session on Thursday, June 1 in the NMAA Hall of Pride and Honor. The Board of Directors elected Mr. Anthony Casados as President and Mr. Martin Madrid as Vice President for a two-year term.
As the summer temps pick up the GHS Boys’ Basketball team has been bringing up the heat on the hard floor as they have been participating in summer camps across the state.
