Students with no internet at home went to school at their library in Vallecitos during the pandemic shutdown. Despite these and other services rural libraries provide to sustain their towns, most struggle to have sufficient funds to keep their doors open and pay their employees.

Master Technical Instructor/ Culinary Arts Chef Robert L. Witte, CEC, CCA, AAC, received the Presidential Medallion, the highest honor given by the President of the American Culinary Federation at the American Culinary Federation's National Convention in New Orleans.

July 27 County Commission Meeting A meeting of the Cibola County Commission will take place on July 27 at 5 p.m. in the Cibola County Government Complex, 700 E. Roosevelt, Suite 50, Grants, New Mexico.

GRANTS, NM – A National FFA Organization chapter was recently started at Grants High School. FFA is a youth leadership organization offered through secondary agricultural education courses and Grants High School is now offering these courses to students. Currently the FFA chapter is only available to students from ninth to twelfth grade, but according to FFA Advisor and Agricultural Teacher Amador Gonzales they are hoping to eventually branch out and allow seventh and eighth grade students to take these courses as well.

Selected films are “Born on the Fourth of July”, based on a true story; “Raising Colors”, a fictionalized account of a woman in France’s Navy; and “Glory” adopted from journals about the first Black unit who served in the Civil War.
