Lady Pirate Wrestlers Take First at Moriarty

GRANTS, N.M. - The Grants High School Lady Pirates hit gold at the Moriarty Girls Wrestling Tournament last weekend.With 154.5 points they bested the second place team by a substantial 40 points— -Rio Rancho was the second place team with 114.5 points.

This week's Athlete of the Week is Dakota Belliman of the Grants High School Wrestling Team. Belliman was crowned Queen of the Tournament and placed First in 105-pound weight class at a recent girls wrestling tournament in Moriarty.

BLUEWATER LAKE, N.M. – Bluewater Lake saw an important change this week as winter conditions tightened their grip on the reservoir, but cold conditions didn’t keep anglers out of Cibola County’s Bluewater Lake.

Pirates Battle 5A Teams at Bernalillo Tournament

GRANTS, N.M. - The West Mesa Mustangs dealt the Pirates their first loss of the new year as the Pirates went 1-2 at a recent tournament in Bernalillo last weekend. It may have been 4A “ Bernalillo Tournament,” however, 5A teams were were well represented at the tournament.
