Trailing off

What has been called a curse — “may you live in interesting times” — has been a blessing. Hot dang, what a ride, this life. Travel, adventure, romance, exclamation points.

New Mexico, land of the free?

Dear Editor; I’m really getting tired of the arrogant “elite” in government and the media restricting our freedom because we are “archaic” New Mexicans. For example, SB 10 Repeal abortion ban was hailed as decriminalizing abortion.

The new norm: ...I see the dawn!

It dawned on me that hopefully and possibly we will see the dawn of returning to a normal life as we had known before COVID-19. The rise in the number of new cases is slowing substantially and thank goodness the associated deaths have fallen.

Maybe you need to talk to someone

I have a couple stories that “need to be told” but will save one for another column. I am not really a storyteller, but value storytelling. I’m more of a short story person. Tidbits of truth, life lessons, insights I like to share.

The new norm: …Now in February!

By Roger Siegmann I hope the cold, short days as well as this pandemic are nearing their end and we can get back to some type of normal life and can attend major social events with our granddaughters that we have in the past.

The new norm: …The New Norm… Red, yellow, green!

I was watching the morning news and noticed that more New Mexico counties are achieving the yellow or green color categories that allow businesses less restrictions and an opportunity to reopen on a limited scale. This is good news.

The Turning of the Leaf

I’ve never been much of an environmentalist; I keep my trash in a can and recycle if given the chance. Though, it’s occurred to me that we are more connected to nature than we think. Jesus often likens us to vines or the ground which grow fruit or wheat.
