The New MexicoActivities Association membership recently voted in favor of a proposed update to sportsmanship bylaws. NMAA high schools voted by nearly 80% in favor of Bylaw 7.7.4 – Crowd Control & Unsportsmanlike Conduct. The new policy will be enacted beginning with the 20232024 school year.

ACOMA PUEBLO – Athletes from the Pueblo of Acoma made their mark on the New Mexico Senior Olympics, coming back home with 12 gold medals around their necks. First Place Bringing home the gold, there were seven athletes from Acoma that secured 13 collective gold medals.

Grants High School alum Isaac Gallegos has a storied baseball career. From playing with the local Pirates to collegiate fame with the University of New Mexico Lobos, the homegrown athlete has been drafted to the Atlanta Braves. Gallegos was a 16th Round pick, coming in at 489 in the draft. He stands 6-foot, 3-inches tall and weighs 215 pounds. The athlete was born in 2002 and is a Junior at UNM. ALBUQUERQUE, NM - New Mexico United fell to rival Phoenix Rising FC by a 1-3 margin on Wednesday night. Justin Portillo’s assist on Amando Moreno’s 51st minute tally was the lone bright spot for the Black & Yellow, who remain in 10th place in the USL Championship Western Conference.
