Noah Victorino, 4,of the Grants Pirate Basketball Team nailed a bucket at a recent Pirate basketball game at the Port of the Pirates. The Pirates are currently 7-16, 0-7 and will close out district play this Tuesday, February 14 at home with a game against Belen High School (4-20, 15). Grants-Cibola County Schools held the Annual District Spelling Bee at the Grants High School Performing Arts Center on January 25, and students from all over the district were involved in the competition. All of them did great, however, there could only be one winner!

The Pirates boys’ basketball team had a shot at getting their first “W '' in districts and came up short by a point after a 72-71 overtime defeat at the hands of the Belen Eagles. The Pirates led in the first quarter 20-17 and only trailed by a bucket at the half, 37-35.
