Gilbert Eloy Alires, 89 years old, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 4, 2020. Gilbert was born January 17, 1931 in Leadville, Colorado to Eloy and Eloisa Alires and where he attended Catholic school as a boy. Gilbert was one of seventeen siblings that made him resourceful and selfsufficient.

Rita was born in Eli Nevada on February 27,1946 to Nilda Mae Isi and Loren Morgan. She fell asleep to join the Lord in the eternity on November 16, 2020.

Stella Castillo passed away on January 21, 2021 at her home in Grants, New Mexico. She was 73 years of age.

On the evening of January 13, 2021, Dora J. McBride, beloved mother, devoted sister, and precious Nana left this Earth, carrying a bit of our hearts with her. She was surrounded by her children and the love of family. Born August 29, 1934, in St. Johns Arizona, Dora spent her life working to provide every opportunity and necessity for her children and grandchildren. Though she worked her fmgers to the bone, she never complained and could always be heard singing. Mom’s family gatherings were always bursting at the seams with love, laughter, and joy. Her home was small and her family large, but everyone fit, feasted, and was loved. No one could compliment something she owned or wore because her generous heart would immediately give it to them. She instilled in her family the importance of hard work, faith, and love of family. Dora was a humble woman of modest means; how-ever, she would tell anyone who asked, that she was the richest, most blessed person on earth. Her wealth was measured in her children and her many treasures were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Richard E. Roybal born May 11, 1965 to Susie Sandoval Quintana and Eloy Roybal passed away peacefully at home January 13, 2021 after a lengthy illness.

Donna M. Kie, 70, of Grants, New Mexico lost her strong fight against cancer. She passed away at home surrounded by family on December 12, 2020. She wanted to have a celebration of life service at the San Jose Mission in Old Laguna, NM. Currently the Pueblo of Laguna is closed to non-tribal members due to Covid-19. Arrangements will be made at a later date so others can join.

Francis (Frank) Leroy Merrick, born on September 27, 1934 in Marion, Ohio, passed away in Grants, NM on January 14, 2021 at the age of 86. After high school Frank served in the U.S.

Marivel Monica Palafox passed away on January 4, 2021 in Grant's nm she was born on May 10, 2002 in Grants, New Mexico She passed away at the age of 18. Services will be held at St.

Howard L. Rutter, 79 of Portales, New Mexico passed away on January 14, 2021 in Lubbock Texas. Howard was born to Bruce and Florence Rutter on November 1, 1941. He grew up in Arkansas City, Kansas with his ‘favorite’ sister Shirley Rutter Crisp and younger brother, Billy Joe. The family relocated in 1958 and moved to Tucumcari NM where he eventually enlisted in the Army Reserves for a short time and served 11 years in the Navy including three tours in Vietnam. After 13 years of service, Howard moved to Albuquerque where he attended TVI to complete his certification in Auto mechanics. Once he completed his education, he owned several mechanic shops in Albuquerque and Thoreau, N.M.
