Dustin “Dusty” Nichols

On Friday, March 26, Dustin “Dusty” Nichols passed away. Dusty was born on September 18, 1979 in Durango, Colorado. He grew up in the Grants/Milan area with his parents, Mark and Beverley Nichols. In 2005 Dusty married his wife, Sandra Nichols and they moved to Albuquerque New Mexico with their daughter Hope. Dusty worked many years with Lowes, eventually leaving to better opportunities. Dusty was an avid boatsman, hunter and Bronco Fan. Dusty was known for his generosity and kind spirit. He had a big heart, and he was onery by nature.

Mary Ellen Ward

Mary Ellen Ward was a kind and caring mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 11, 2021, due to heart complications. Per Mary’s wish, she was cremated and will be resting with her late husband Joe V. Ward at the La Whatoya Cemetery in La Veta, Colorado.

Dale Tafoya passed away on March 21, 2021 at his home in Grants. He was born on December 12, 1940 also in Grants.

Doris Clymo

Doris Clymo passed away March 16, 2021, after a short illness. She was born November 24, 1939 to parents Clifford E. and Viola L Haynes in Post, Texas. Shortly after her birth the family moved to Pie Town NM where they were ranchers. Doris graduated from Quemado High School. In 1958 Doris met and married Verne Clymo. Together they had three sons, Clay Verne, Ross Clifford, and Curtis Lee. In 1976 Doris and Verne moved from the Pie Town/Quemado area to Continental Divide, NM. Doris began a career in the Postal Service as a postal clerk and eventually a Postmaster. Doris and Verne moved to Fence Lake in 1982 with her appointment as Postmaster. She was preceded in death by her parents Clifford and Viola Haynes, husband Verne, son Clay, and grandson Tyler Ross. Doris is survived by brother Clifford (Gene) Haynes and wife Naomi of Albuquerque, son Ross Clymo and partner Rima Jones, son Curtis Clymo and wife Winnie Clymo, grandchildren Autumn, Gwen, Kyle and Evan. She is also survived by several favorite nieces and nephews. Doris was known for her love of horses and dogs. She was a published writer and had written several short stories and poems. Doris was also a member of the Catron County Historical Society. Doris inspired many people. She was a mainstay and anchor of the local communities. She will be remembered by many and loved by all who knew her. A graveside service for Doris will be held on Saturday, March 20, 2021, 11:00 am, at the Forest Hill Cemetery, Omega, New Mexico. Burial will follow at the Grants Memorial Park (Due to Covid only 10 family members may be at the Graveside, everyone else must stay in your cars

Terry Rodney Molina was born October 9,1964 in Grants, New Mexico and passed away at his home on March 12, 2021. He was born to Florey and Selza Molina. He graduated from Grants High School in 1982 and joined the U.S. Army and served from 1984 to 1988. He graduated from the University of New Mexico with a bachelor’s degree of Business Administration (Production and Marketing Management) on May 11, 2002. He worked at WNMCF until his death.
