His iconic photographs are exhibited in art museums around the world, most notably his most celebrated photograph entitled “White Man’s Moccasins.” Lee Marmon’s iconic photographs preserve the elders and the landscape of Pueblo Country in the mid-twentieth century. Their precious legacy remains forever preserved in the photography of Lee Marmon. These people from the ancient pueblos of New Mexico will now be with us forever.

Joe M. Sanchez, age 62, born to Eduardo and Melba Sanchez in Albuquerque and resident of Grants, New Mexico, passed away on March 23, 2021. Joe enjoyed a career as a certified appliance repair technician in the Albuquerque and Denver metro for many years. He loved his family and was a great dad and grandpa. He will be missed deeply, and his memory will be forever etched in our hearts. He is survived by his children, Charlotte Sanchez and Joseph Sanchez, grandchildren; Monique Villa, Lola Arellano, Ignacio Arellano, Vanessa Sanchez, Jeremiah Sanchez; great-grandchild, Estevan Sanchez, siblings; Rhonda Gutierrez and husband Abel, Victor Sanchez and wife Mary, Jerry Sanchez, Chris Sanchez and wife Aileen, Sandra Marez and husband Curtis, Darlene Garduno and husband Gilbert; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Josephine was born on October 28, 1937 in Regent, North Dakota and she went to be with the Lord on March 17, 2021 in Grants, New Mexico. A rosary and funeral service will be held on Friday, April 23, 2021 at 9:30 a.m.
