The Grants High School Lady Pirates volleyball team is currently 6-8, 0-0 as they prepare to start district play next week.The Lady Pirates recently defeated Espanola Valley 3-2 on September 28. The match scores were 25-22, 25-19, 19-25, 2225 and 15-6.

The Grants High School boys’ and girls’ soccer teams have been busy as they are passing the midway point of their seasons.Currently the GHS boys’ soccer team is 3-7, 0-2 after a 2-0 defeat of non-district Tierra Encantada (5-2, 0-0) last week. Fabian Pena and Kulynn Spencer scored this game.

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The Aggies beat the MTSU Blue Raiders 1-0 on Sunday, Sept. 29 at the NM State Soccer Complex. A late goal from Meredith Scott propelled the Aggies to their second Conference USA win of the season.

This week's Athlete of the Week is Aubrhy Garcia, team captain of the Grants High School Volleyball Team. Garcia is ranked second in Class 4A in District 5 for aces and 10th for kills as well as fifth in the state of New Mexico for digs.

The Grants High School Volleyball Team is currently 5-7 after two recent wins. They defeated Wingate High School 3-0 and Del Norte High School 3-1. They will play Kirtland Central (4-6) away on September 26th then host Espanola Valley (3-8) September 28.

The Four Corners is where the Grants High School Pirates traveled to last Friday as they took on the 1-4, 0-2 Kirtland Central Broncos and defeated them 28-19.“This win was huge for us,” said GHS Head Football Coach Steve Brown.

HUNTSVILLE, Texas – NM State wrapped up a two-game road swing as they returned to Conference USA play at Bowers Stadium. The Aggies (1-3, 0-2 CUSA) fell 31-11 at the hands of the Bearkats (3-1, 1-0) who picked up their first league win of the season.
