Spring Sports Swinging into District Play

The Ides of March have just passed us, and with that, Spring sports teams launch into district play. The Grants High School boys’ baseball team (10-6), is ranked sixth in class 4-A in the MaxPreps standings and is second in the district just behind the St.

Hawks Get it Done Together

The Laguna Acoma Hawks baseball team is on a four-game winning streak after defeating Thoreau 19-1 and duplicating that score, 19-1, on Tuesday, March 2 in a double header hosted by the Thoreau Hawks (2-4).

Local Sports Roundup

GHS boys and girls track team participated recently at a track meet at Thoreau High School’s Robin Langer Classic hosted by Gallup High School. Several boys and girls placed in the top three of their events. Notables on the boy’s team were Luis Lopez first in the 100- meter dash with a time of 12.

GRANTS, N.M. – The Grants High School Pirates are currently on a six game winning streak as they brought the broom out and swept the Del Norte Knights (1-7) in a doubleheader on Saturday, February 12, 15-4 and 18-0.

Spring Sports Blowing In

As the March winds open up the Pirate Baseball team is six games deep into the season and is currently 4-2 as they dominated I-40 rival, the Gallup Bengals (1-4), 9-6 and 11-1 in a double header last Saturday, March 5 in their home opener.
