Knight Long Announces Commitment to Play Football at New Mexico Highlands University

Knight Long, a 5' 6' SR, CB in the 2024 Class from Grants High School, has committed to play college football at New Mexico Highlands University. Head Coach Steve Brown, had this to say about Long's recruitment to New Mexico Highlands University, 'I'm super excited for Knight and our program! This is huge for us! I'm hoping that our younger and any other athletes in our program see this and realize that with hard work and dedication to team, that they have an opportunity to continue their education and playing the game they love after high school! Knight worked hard throughout his High School Career and now gets to reap the benefits.

B-Ball Teams in the heart of District Play

The Grants High School basketball teams are in right smack in the middle of district play. The GHS boys basketball team ranked 8th in the maxpreps.com basketball rankings with a 14-8 overall record and 2-2 district record. They are 3rd in district 5 4-A after a 81-62 defeat of the Belen Eagles (7-13, 0-3) in a district game at home last Friday.

NEW MEXICO UNITED ANNOUNCES PROMOTION OF LUKE SANFORD TO FIRST ASSISTANT COACH

Albuquerque, NM New Mexico United is thrilled to announce that the club has promoted Luke Sanford to the role of First Assistant Coach for the United First Team. Sanford - who came aboard in January of 2022 - has served in many roles and taken on many responsibilities with the Black & Yellow, serving as an assistant with the First Team, Head Coach of the United Academy, Head Coach of the United U-23’s, and Academy Director in his 2+ years with the club.

Horacek has been a strong contributing factor in the Pirates successful season thus far by scoring in double digits in several games and contributing to the defense.
