ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - After a disappointing 25-point loss to the eventual district champions Sandia Prep, the Laguna-Acoma High School Hawks found out they would not continue their season after were excluded from the 16- team state 3A basketball tournament.
GRANTS, N.M. – The Grants High School lady Pirates are one step closer to their dream of making it to The Pit. The lady Pirates suffered a shattering loss to the St. Pius X Sartans on Feb. 26 in the semi-final round of the district tournament. The 49-40 loss may have hurt, but the lady Pirates 5-3 district record allowed the lady Pirates the 11th seed.
GRANTS, N.M. – The Grants High School Pirate basketball team suffered a one-point loss to the Valencia Jaguars on Feb. 27. The loss came after a defensive struggle which put the Pirate team to the test and while it crushed their chances of reaching the championship game in the district tournament, it was still enough to allow the Pirates the 13th seed in the state tournament.
