There wasn't much about fathers in the news during their special day, but some families got together for a pleasant cook out. Many memories came to my mind- so a trip to the cemetery. Tourists have remarked about the beauty of our cemetery – a lovely sign of respect for those who came before us.

Dear editor, The City of Grants is definitely on the move forward! You may have noticed that the employees of the City have been busy fixing streets and cleaning the medians on both sides of the streets of all trash and weeds.

It has taken me a long time to write this--ever since I read the summarized Legislative report about Cibola schools. Only 17 percent of our children are proficient in math and 27 percent in reading. There was increasing violence in spite of more money given to the schools.

“They put in a new sidewalk,” my neighbor said, “and the first thing that happened was, a cat walked across the cement and left little footprints!” My neighbor was amused. “I hope they leave them. They’re so cute!” I thought those prints would probably survive.
