Letters to the Editor . . .

Dear editor, The August 16 edition of the Cibola Citizen printed an article describing the July 26 City Council meeting.

Light in the Darkness

What might be surprising is when I was younger, I was extremely extroverted. I used to be the type of person who would always answer questions from teachers, who would introduce myself first to new students, and the person who would present projects first.

Travels in Grants

I've lived with aliens most of my life. I didn't recognize it as a child but later I saw them looking in my eyes and making strange sounds to communicate. Although nonhuman, some would run to greet me while another group pretended, I wasn't there.

Op-ed: A Letter to the Editor and Citizens of Grants from Donald Jaramillo

Much has been said in regard to my termination as manager of the City of Grants. When I accepted the position, I was aware it could end at any moment due to the political tie - five elected officials, majority of three wins.

Letters to the Editor . . .

It’s on the Council Dear editor, I’ve been absent from writing to you for at least the last two years in hopes that the city leaders have calmed down. It has for the most part, not so dramatic with a storm of chaos with the previous mayor, it’s relatively calm.

Op-Ed:

I want to share the order of events for the Food Pantry, a project that the City Council has been in full support of since I was elected. Alice Perez, Director for the Grants and Gallup pantries, wrote a grant for 1.8 million dollars and was awarded this grant funding by the State of New Mexico.

Letters to the Editor

Dear editor, On behalf of the City of Grants I would like to take the opportunity to thank the New Mexico Department of Transportation for doing such a tremendous job cleaning the freeway (I-40) and all entrances and exits into Grants!

Honoring Korean War Veterans

July 27 was National Korean War Veterans Armistice Day, the day when our nation commemorates the signing of an armistice to end the Korean War, and honors our service members who served during the war. This year marks the 70th anniversary of the signing.

The ‘Red Flag’ Law in New Mexico

First, a caveat--this is not meant to be an opinion piece in favor of or against this law. Rather, it is meant to educate readers on the law’s history, intent, scope and implementation. In 2020, New Mexico became the 19th state to enact a socalled Red Flag Law.

Travels in Grants

It seems impossible to always think about 'Whatever is true, whatever is honorable' because the news brings us ugliness and evil that we can't ignore. Our children and grandchildren are, and will be, affected by so very many serious issues.
