The Grants High School basketball teams are in right smack in the middle of district play. The GHS boys basketball team ranked 8th in the maxpreps.com basketball rankings with a 14-8 overall record and 2-2 district record.

Two games deep into districts and the Grants High School Pirate boys’ basketball team is currently third in district 4A just behind St. Pius (108,2-0) and Highland (145,1-0). The Pirates defeated the Valencia Jaguars (11-8,0-1) in their first district game by a buzzer beater trey by Boudy Melonas.

It wasn’t that long ago it was Christmas and New Year’s. Before you know it it’s district basketball season. Cibola County teams are starting their district play this week on Tuesday, January 23. The Grants High School boys’ basketball team went 0-3 last week and are currently 12-6.
